What is ReinStrong
ReinStrong is a stiff polypropylene monofilament, 40 mm long and 0.8 mm in diameter, for structural reinforcement of concrete. It disperses evenly throughout the entire mix and takes over the load once a crack forms. Steel mesh works in only one plane and often ends up in the wrong place. ReinStrong reinforces concrete in three dimensions, from the bottom of the slab right up to the surface.
The fiber’s ribbed, wavy surface bonds firmly to the cement matrix. As a result, cracks don’t open up, and the concrete keeps its load-bearing capacity even after the first crack appears.
How macro fiber works
While the concrete is intact, the cement matrix carries the load on its own. When a microcrack forms, ReinStrong fibers “stitch” it together and keep it from opening.
This post-crack performance is exactly what EN 14651 measures as residual flexural strength fR1 and fR4. Engineers use these values when they include fiber in a slab design. The DoP dose of ReinStrong that provides fR1 ≥ 1.5 MPa and fR4 ≥ 1.0 MPa is 4.5 kg/m³.

Benefits
Instead of steel mesh
No need to tie steel mesh, lay it out and lift it onto rebar chairs. You save time on reinforcing and cut crew shifts.
Won't rust
No corrosion, no rust stains on the surface and no spalling of the concrete cover. Suitable for aggressive environments, salts and chemicals.
Safe to handle
Doesn't cut workers' hands the way steel fiber does. A bag weighs a few kilograms, not hundreds.
Easy on equipment
Much less wear on pumps, hoses and drums than with steel fiber. No magnetic or electrical interference.
Easier logistics
The dose for 1 m³ weighs several times less than steel fiber.
Lower carbon footprint
Compared with steel reinforcement.
How and where to use ReinStrong
Where to use it
- Industrial and warehouse floors, slabs on grade
- Outdoor paved areas, parking lots, roads, sidewalks
- Foundation slabs for private homes
- Precast concrete: drainage channels, rings, slabs, fences
- Shotcrete: slope stabilization, tunnels, mines
- Fortifications and protective structures
When not to use it
- Does not replace structural rebar in load-bearing members (suspended slabs, beams, columns) without engineering calculations.
We are upfront about the limits of each fiber, so you don't overpay or end up with cracks.
Recommended dosage
| Application | Dosage |
|---|---|
| Slabs on grade, light-duty floors | 2–3 kg/m³ |
| Industrial floors, outdoor paved areas | 4–5 kg/m³ |
| Precast concrete | 5–6 kg/m³ |
| Shotcrete | 6–8 kg/m³ |
The exact dosage depends on loads, thickness, concrete grade and subbase. We will match it to your project.
How to add it to concrete
- At the batching plant: add the fiber together with the aggregates or with the first portion of water.
- In a truck mixer: add the fiber to the drum at the start of loading. If you add it to ready-mixed concrete, mix at maximum drum speed for another 5 min (at least 70 drum revolutions).
- Workability: macro fiber slightly reduces slump. Compensate with a superplasticizer (PCE), not with water. Recommended slump at discharge: S3 or higher.
- Placing: vibrating screed or laser screed.
- Finishing: use magnesium (not wooden) floats, trowel as late as possible and keep the blades flat. This embeds the fibers so they don't come up to the surface.
- Before your first project, make a trial batch.

ReinStrong FAQ
Can I eliminate steel mesh or rebar entirely if I use ReinStrong?
For most slabs on grade and floors, yes, provided this is confirmed by engineering calculations. In load-bearing structures (suspended slabs, beams, columns), fiber complements structural rebar but does not replace it.
Will fibers stick out of the floor surface?
With proper troweling they are barely visible. Trowel later, with magnesium floats and flat blades.
How is ReinStrong different from ReinLite?
ReinLite is a micro fiber that protects fresh concrete against shrinkage cracks. ReinStrong is a structural monofilament fiber that works in hardened concrete under load.
How much ReinStrong do I need per 1 m³ of concrete?
From 2–3 kg/m³ for light-duty slabs on grade to 6–8 kg/m³ for shotcrete. The DoP dose, which provides fR1 ≥ 1.5 MPa and fR4 ≥ 1.0 MPa, is 4.5 kg/m³.
